How to Duplicate Your Shopify Broadcast Theme Before Editing

Before making any real changes to a live Broadcast theme, duplicate it first — Shopify has no built-in "undo" once changes are saved and published.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find your live Broadcast theme, click the ⋯ menu next to it.
3. Select Duplicate. Shopify creates a full copy in your theme library.
4. Make your edits on the duplicate, not the live theme.
5. When you're happy with the result, use Publish on the duplicate to make it live, or keep the original as a permanent rollback point.

This matters even more on Broadcast given how many cart-drawer and upsell settings there are to test — better to get the combination right on a duplicate than to break a live cart mid-checkout.
