How to Add a Mega Menu in Shopify, Theme by Theme
Adding a mega menu in Shopify is mostly a navigation job rather than a theme job, which is why the steps look almost identical on every theme covered here.
Why the steps barely change between themes
A mega menu isn't a section you add or a block you drag in. It comes from the structure of a regular menu under Online Store > Navigation: add a top-level item, nest second-level items beneath it, and the theme renders that nesting as a dropdown. Every theme on this site works this way, so if you've built one in Dawn you already know how to build one in Prestige.
What differs is what the theme does with that structure once it exists. Most themes read your nesting and, if a nested item points at a collection with an image, pull that image into the dropdown automatically — the header section's own settings decide whether images show at all.
Where Horizon genuinely differs
Horizon is the real exception, and it's worth knowing before you pick a theme for a large catalog. Because Horizon builds dropdown columns from nested blocks, you can add image blocks, promo tiles, and featured-collection blocks inside a dropdown rather than only links. On the other themes here, a dropdown holds links and whatever images the theme derives from them.
One rule that applies everywhere
Keep top-level categories broad and let nested links carry the detail. A mega menu with too many top-level items is harder to scan than a plain dropdown, whichever theme renders it.
