How to Add a Mega Menu in Shopify Symmetry Theme

Symmetry's mega menu goes beyond a plain nested dropdown — it's built from how you structure a regular navigation menu, but also supports dedicated menu promotion blocks for images and callouts within the dropdown.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Navigation.
2. Open the menu used by your header (commonly "Main menu").
3. Add a top-level item, then add second-level items nested under it — this nesting is what Symmetry renders as a dropdown.
4. In Online Store > Themes > Customize, select the Header section and check the mega menu block settings for adding a promotional image or tile inside a specific dropdown column.
5. Click Save.

Keep top-level categories broad and let the nested links carry the detail — a mega menu with too many top-level items becomes harder to scan than a simple dropdown.
