How to Add a Scrolling Banner in Shopify Symmetry Theme

The scrolling banner is a distinctive Symmetry section — a continuous, marquee-style line of text that moves across the screen, distinct from the theme's standard static announcement bar.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Symmetry.
  2. Click Add section and choose Scrolling banner.
  3. Add a block per message — shipping info, a sale, a new collection — since the banner can cycle through several.
  4. Set the scroll speed and direction, and the color scheme for the banner.
  5. Click Save.

Keep the message count small and the text short — a scrolling banner is meant to be glanced at, not read carefully, so cramming in long sentences defeats the format.
