How to Show Recommended Products in the Cart in Shopify Symmetry Theme

Symmetry's cart drawer can show product recommendations directly alongside a shopper's cart contents — either automatic, algorithm-driven suggestions, or manually chosen ones.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Symmetry.
  2. Select the Cart drawer section in the theme editor.
  3. Find the Recommended products setting and turn it on.
  4. Choose between Automatic (populated by Shopify's recommendation algorithm based on cart contents) or a manually curated product list, depending on what's offered.
  5. Click Save.

Automatic recommendations need no ongoing maintenance and improve as your store accumulates order history — a manual list gives you more control but has to be kept up to date as products sell out or change.
