How to Add Cart Notes in Shopify Symmetry Theme

Cart notes let a shopper add a message with their order — gift instructions, delivery notes — and it's a native Symmetry setting, not a workaround.

Steps

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Symmetry.
Select the Cart drawer section in the theme editor (or Theme settings > Cart if you're using the full cart page).
Turn on Cart notes.
Click Save.

The note a shopper adds shows up on the order in your Shopify admin — it doesn't get anything special from Shopify's fulfillment or shipping logic, it's just visible text for you to read.
