How to Add Cart Notes in Shopify Warehouse Theme

Cart notes let a shopper add a message with their order — delivery instructions, a purchase order number, installation notes — and it's a native Warehouse toggle, not a workaround.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Warehouse.
  2. Click Theme settings, then Cart.
  3. Turn on Show order note (or similarly named cart notes setting).
  4. Click Save.

The note a shopper adds shows up on the order in your Shopify admin — it doesn't get anything special from Shopify's fulfillment or shipping logic, it's just visible text for you to read. For B2B-leaning or bulk orders, this is a common spot for a PO number or a delivery-window request.
