How to Show Multiple Variant Images in Shopify Symmetry Theme

Symmetry's multiple variant images feature goes beyond a single swapped photo per color — it can show an entire dedicated image gallery for each variant option, so a shopper browsing "Blue" sees only blue product photos.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, upload separate images for each color or variant option on the product, tagging or assigning them to the right variant value.
  2. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Symmetry.
  3. Open a product page and select the Product images or Media block.
  4. Find the setting that groups media by variant option (commonly tied to how your images are assigned in the product admin) and confirm it's turned on.
  5. Click Save.

This depends entirely on how carefully images are assigned to variants in the product admin — a color with only one assigned image will just show that one image, not a full gallery, so it's worth auditing your best-selling products first.
