How to Add a Mega Menu in Shopify Empire Theme

Empire's mega menu isn't a separate app or block — it's built from how you structure a regular navigation menu, with images pulled in automatically from linked collections.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Navigation.
2. Open the menu used by your header (commonly "Main menu").
3. Add a top-level item, then add second-level items nested under it — this nesting is what Empire renders as a dropdown.
4. If a nested item links to a collection with an image, Empire can show that image inside the dropdown column, depending on your header section's menu display settings.
5. In Online Store > Themes > Customize, select the Header section to check menu-related display options.
6. Click Save.

For a catalog spanning many categories, a mega menu is often the difference between shoppers finding the right sub-category in one click versus digging through filters after landing on the wrong collection page.
