How to Enable the Cart Drawer in Shopify Empire Theme

Empire supports several cart behaviors, and switching between them is one setting — no code required.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Empire.
2. Click Theme settings, then Cart.
3. Under Cart type, choose Drawer (slides out from the side), Page (a dedicated /cart page), or Notification (a small popup after adding an item).
4. Click Save.

Drawer is the most common choice for stores that want shoppers to keep browsing without a full page reload — Page suits stores where the cart itself needs more room, like showing detailed line-item notes across a large multi-item order.
