How to Add Product Badges in Shopify Broadcast Theme

Product badges are small labels overlaid on a product image or card — Broadcast can show them automatically for sale items, and for anything else you can drive them from product tags.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Broadcast.
2. Click Theme settings, then find the Badges (or Product badges) section.
3. Confirm the automatic Sale badge is on if you want it to show whenever a product has a compare-at price.
4. For custom badges like "New" or "Bestseller," check what tag format Broadcast expects (commonly something like a specific prefixed tag) and add matching tags to the relevant products.
5. Click Save.

Automatic sale badges need no ongoing maintenance since they follow your pricing; tag-based custom badges do need you to add and remove the tag as a product's status changes.
