How to Add a Blog Search Bar in Shopify Broadcast Theme
Broadcast doesn't ship with a search box scoped to just your blog — here's what it has natively, and how to add real blog-only search.
Steps
- Broadcast's built-in search (the magnifying glass icon in the header) opens a store-wide predictive search. It does include blog articles in its results, but it searches products, pages, and collections at the same time.
- There's no theme editor setting to add a search box that's scoped to just the blog — Broadcast's section list doesn't include one.
- If you only need readers to find articles by title, the header search already technically works, since blog posts appear in those results.
- If you want a proper search bar that lives on the blog page itself and only searches articles — plus keyword-level insight into what readers are actually searching for — an app like Blog Filter & Blog Search HUE adds that as a dedicated section you can place on your blog template.
Advanced blog search
For most stores running a small blog, native search is enough. It's worth adding a dedicated blog search once your article count grows past what a tag filter alone can browse comfortably.
