How to Add a Promo Popup in Shopify Broadcast Theme

Promo popups are a native Broadcast feature — a modal that appears on a delay, scroll depth, or exit-intent, commonly used for email capture or a sale announcement.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Broadcast.
2. Click Add section and choose Promo popup.
3. Set the popup's image, heading, and text, plus any signup form or link it should include.
4. Configure the trigger — a time delay, scroll depth, or exit intent, depending on what Broadcast offers for that section.
5. Set how often it reappears for the same visitor (once per session is the common default).
6. Click Save.

Popups convert best when they're specific — a real discount code or a genuinely useful freebie outperforms a generic "join our newsletter" ask.
