How to Enable Product Image Zoom in Shopify Horizon Theme

Image zoom is a native Horizon feature — unlike some older themes, you don't need an app to let shoppers inspect product photos up close.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Horizon.
2. Open a product page and select the Media or Product images block.
3. Find the zoom setting and choose how it triggers — typically click-to-zoom or hover, depending on what Horizon offers for that block.
4. Preview on both desktop and mobile — zoom behavior commonly differs between the two (tap-to-zoom on mobile, hover on desktop).
5. Click Save.

If your product photos are low-resolution, zoom will make that more obvious, not less — upload the highest-resolution images you have before turning this on.
