How to Enable Back-in-Stock Alerts in Shopify Horizon Theme

Back-in-stock alerts let a shopper leave their email on a sold-out product and get notified automatically once it's restocked — a native Horizon feature.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Horizon.
  2. Open a product page and select the Buy buttons or Product information block.
  3. Find the back-in-stock (or "notify me") setting and turn it on.
  4. Confirm the notification email is configured — check Settings > Notifications for the relevant customer-facing template.
  5. Click Save.

This only appears automatically when a product is genuinely out of stock — you won't see it while previewing an in-stock product.
