How to Add Breadcrumbs in Shopify Impulse Theme

Breadcrumbs show a shopper the path back to a parent collection or the homepage — a native Impulse setting, not something every Shopify theme includes by default.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Impulse.
2. Open a product or collection page and select the relevant top-of-page section.
3. Turn on Show breadcrumbs (or similarly named setting).
4. Click Save.

Breadcrumbs are most useful on stores with deep collection structures — if your catalog is flat (a handful of top-level collections only), they add less value and are easy to skip.
