How to Add Breadcrumbs in Shopify Motion Theme

Breadcrumbs show a shopper the path back to where they came from — Home > Collection > Product — and it's a native Motion setting rather than something you need to build with navigation menus.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Motion.
  2. Open a product or collection page and select the relevant page-level section (often the top of the Product information or Collection template).
  3. Find the Show breadcrumbs (or similarly named) setting and turn it on.
  4. Click Save.

Breadcrumbs matter most on stores with deep category structures — if your catalog is flat with only a handful of top-level collections, the extra navigation line adds less value.
