How to Customize the Account Menu in Shopify Motion Theme

The account menu is the header icon that lets a returning shopper sign in and reach their order history — a native Motion header element, not a separate app.

Steps

In your Shopify admin, confirm which customer account experience your store uses under Settings > Customer accounts (classic or the newer account system) — this affects what a shopper sees after clicking through, not the icon itself.
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Motion.
Select the Header section.
Find the account icon's display setting and confirm it's turned on, and check whether Motion offers a dropdown preview (recent orders, quick sign-out) versus a plain link straight to the account page.
Click Save.

If the icon links somewhere unexpected, the fix is usually in Settings > Customer accounts rather than the theme editor — the header icon just reflects whichever account system your store has active.
