How to Add Product Videos in Shopify Motion Theme

Product videos sit in the same media gallery as your product photos — one of the features Motion's whole design leans on, since a short demo or styling video often does more for brand storytelling than another static shot.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, open the product you want to add a video to and go to its Media section.
2. Click Add media and upload your video file directly, or add one hosted on YouTube or Vimeo via a URL, depending on what your product's media options support.
3. Reorder the video's position in the gallery by dragging it — first position means it plays before a shopper even opens the gallery.
4. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Motion, then open that product page.
5. Select the Product images or Media block and check whether autoplay is turned on for videos, or left as click-to-play.
6. Click Save.

Keep videos short and muted-by-default if you enable autoplay — a video that plays sound unprompted is one of the fastest ways to get a shopper to close the tab.
