How to Add a Slideshow in Shopify Motion Theme

Motion's Slideshow section handles multiple rotating banners, and — fitting the theme's video-forward identity — each slide can typically use a video background as well as a static image.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Motion.
2. On the Home page template, click Add section and choose Slideshow.
3. Click Add slide to add each banner — every slide gets its own image or video, heading, text, and button.
4. In the section settings, set the Slide height and whether slides auto-rotate.
5. Reorder slides by dragging them in the block list, the same way you'd reorder sections.
6. Click Save.

Keep video slides short and compressed — a slideshow is usually the very first thing that loads, so a heavy video file here has an outsized effect on your homepage's load time.
