How to Add a Background Video in Shopify Testament Theme

Testament has a dedicated background video section — a looping, auto-playing video plays behind your text overlay instead of a static image.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on Testament.
  2. Click Add section and choose Background video.
  3. Upload your video file, or link one hosted on YouTube or Vimeo depending on what the section supports.
  4. Set the heading, text, and any overlay content that sits on top of the video.
  5. Click Save.

Keep the video short, silent, and visually simple — a busy or noisy background video competes with the text sitting on top of it instead of supporting it.
