How to Manage and Search Files in Shopify Taste Theme

Taste suits specialty food and lifestyle products, where an ingredient list, allergen sheet, or certification PDF is often something a shopper genuinely needs before buying.

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Files (some admin versions show this as Content > Files).
2. Click Upload files and add your documents — Shopify accepts any file type except HTML, up to 20 MB each. Video files can go up to 1 GB, capped at 10 minutes, in MOV, MP4, or WEBM.
3. Once uploaded, click a file to copy its public URL.
4. Paste that URL into a product description, a page, or a navigation menu link — this is the only way customers reach it.
5. Repeat per file. There's no bulk-link tool, so each one gets placed manually.

Making ingredient info findable

Shopify's Files section is admin-only — there's no customer-facing search or browse view. If every product has its own allergen sheet or certification, shoppers still have to know exactly which page to check. An app like Download Page & File Search MP adds a searchable file widget so they can look it up directly instead.
