How to Show Sub-Collections on a Collection Page in Shopify Studio Theme

This comes up a lot: Studio's collection template doesn't have a built-in way to show linked sub-collections above the product grid — it's not a setting you've overlooked.

Steps

1. Studio's Product grid section only shows products belonging to that one collection — it has no field for related or child collections.
2. The common workaround is adding a Collection list section directly above the Product grid on that page, manually linking it to the sub-collections you want featured.
3. This has to be set up per collection page, since Studio doesn't have a true parent/child collection relationship — it's a manual layout choice, not automatic.
4. For a store with many nested categories, this manual setup gets repetitive fast — that's usually the point where store owners look at a navigation or merchandising app instead.

Collections in Shopify are inherently flat (no built-in hierarchy), so this limitation isn't unique to Studio — every theme has to work around it the same way.
